Nigeria's fuel imports have dropped by 67% due to the increase in local production. Africa's largest refinery, Dangote Refinery was opened in Lagos State, Nigeria in 2023. It has the capacity to process 650,000 barrels of oil per day.

The owner of Africa's Largest Refinery does not have a single drop of oil in their region. The People that produce the crude oil cannot even afford a refinery and barely have any amenities. If they explain Nigeria to you and you understand it, they did not explain it well.
