The Middlemist Red is one of the world's rarest ornamental flowers, with only two known specimens in the world: one in a garden in New Zealand and the other in a greenhouse in England. Originally native to China, it was brought to England in the 19th century. It has since become extinct in its native habitat and now grows only in these two locations. Its deep red color and the shape of its petals make it highly prized for its beauty.
