The Berlin Wall is another famous wall in the world, but unlike the Great Wall of China, it was a symbol of division and the Cold War. Built in 1961 to separate West Berlin from East Berlin, it symbolized the division of Germany into two parts. The Berlin Wall stood for more than 28 years until it fell in 1989, marking the end of the Cold War and the beginning of German reunification. Today, a portion of the wall has been preserved and is a historical and tourist site that reminds us of the strength of the people's will to freedom.
