Early camera phones flooded the internet with photos and videos. But only creators with real taste managed to cut through the noise and stand out. It wasn’t about the camera, it was about taste. We’re seeing the same thing happen in software right now. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been experimenting with a range of new vibe coding tools like Lovable, bolt, V0, and Cursor to generate design components, and landing pages, and even help build out full product ideas in just minutes to a few hours. It’s wild how quickly you can build small ideas, polished features, and designs. But as I looked outside what’s being created by others (and my own work included), everything looks good on the surface...on-brand, trendy, technically impressive. Yet that spark of originality, the human touch was missing. Shipping products is easy, judgment and taste are the real moat for scale. How are you using these tools in your workflow? Would love to hear everyone's thoughts.

Trust is built in the first 5 seconds. @truflation didn’t just need cleaner charts, it needed to guide attention, intuitive flow, human context, and help people act. If you’re building a complex product: → What makes users trust your product? → Where do they drop off? Let’s talk decision framework that unlocks distribution.

Today, Truflation powers: macro investors, economists, former FED members, enterprises, and over 100+ protocols. - Recognized by @coinbase and @balajis.eth as an innovation in financial & economical data transparency. - Serving as a foundation for inflation-pegged stablecoins and other DeFi solutions.

What changed after the redesign and new product offering? - 40% increase in user retention post-redesign. - 20% increase in daily active users. - Viral lift via inflation widget shares and inflation calculator - Longer session times on smaller devices. - Why? Because clarity breeds confidence. And confidence drives usage.

We extended the product offering to drive awareness and growth: Truflation Widget: Embeddable CPI vs Truflation data snapshot which went viral on Twitter, used by analysts and founders which drove brand awareness & new partnerships.

The hardest part of designing for Truflation wasn’t visual polish. It was a cognitive load. 12+ inflation categories, daily updates, comparison toggles... People could see data. But not make decisions. So I designed a system: - Designed granular breakdowns and progressive disclosure to show data in dept per category (e.g., food, housing, transportation) without overwhelming on upfront. - Color-coded inflation categories for instant scanning. - A shared design language across every chart. - Dynamic charts that let users compare timeframes, subcategories, and trends. - Responsive components for widgets, calculators, and future tools. - Contrast + spacing tuned for better readability on all screen sizes It made Truflation feel less like a spreadsheet, and more like a decision tool. And most importantly, it gave us a system we could build on across data of different countries, currencies, and use cases.

I redesigned Truflation to guide, not just to display data: 🔍 Introduced a high-level summary upfront comparing daily inflation rates with government CPI.

I needed to turn raw data into clarity because making complex data useful isn’t about charts, it’s about helping people trust what they see. So we started with research: - Competitive audits (Bloomberg, TradingView, CPI sites), - Interviews with analysts, DeFi traders - Mobile/Desktop usage analysis - Data usability tests

The protocol was solid: - Processing 18 million to 30 million data points - Over 80 licensed data sources - Daily updates and on-chain transparency But the product struggled with: - Overwhelming density of data - Lacked context with poorly layout hierarchy of page which led to critical information being missed - Mobile users struggled with navigation - There was confusion about how inflation figures were calculated - 40% bounce rate - < 30-second average session time

The backstory: @balajis.eth believed traditional inflation metrics like CPI are outdated with limited sample sizes, No transparency, and potentially manipulated. This left investors, businesses, and individuals making blind decisions in real-time markets. He launched a challenge for a decentralized, transparent inflation dashboard and Truflation won by delivering an MVP version of on-chain inflation data using @chainlinklabs But innovation alone wasn’t enough. Users couldn’t use it because of poor design decisions.

Designing a data protocol is like building a lighthouse. it has to shine clarity, even in the fog of complexity. Here’s how I helped @truflation turn 30M+ data points into something people actually use and become the go-to for real-time inflation data.

some days were calm, and others were just pure chaos. but in the middle of all that, I got time to pause and reflect. sometimes we put so much effort into goals, we forget to check why we started them in the first place, or worse, we chase things we think we should want. and in all the rush, we miss the little surprises life throws our way, the moments that remind us there’s more than just the plan. some things work out, some won’t, and some might turn out better than we imagined. I’ve learned to embrace uncertainty and fall in love with the process of trying more than the result, that’s what my practice was, it is and it will be. but for now, I’m back to clarity, calm, and quietly fired up. thanks to everyone who checked in, stayed around. one day, I’ll tell the full story. if you’re around, let’s catch up. if you're building, let's connect. more soon :)

Hello everyone 👋 it’s been a while. the last few months have been…a lot. life got intense, unimaginable work chaos, unexpected personal events and my father had a heart stroke. emotionally, and mentally it felt like everything was falling apart at once.
