Gullfoss waterfall in Iceland Gullfoss (Gyullfoss) or Golden Waterfall is located in the canyon of the Hvítá River. It has a unique shape and is considered one of the most full-flowing in Europe. The waterfall is formed by two basalt steps with a total height of 32 meters. And it was called golden due to the cloud of spray that is beautifully illuminated by the sun.
