Not one to ramble on usually, but this has been coming up more & more lately, so I felt it’s worth saying. Some folks here have been posting and in some cases even minting or monetising artwork & photography taken from the Internet without crediting the original creators. If you’re sharing something that isn’t yours, just take a moment to tag, mention, or credit the artist. Let’s be clear: selling someone else’s art without permission is completely wrong. It’s not just unethical - it’s theft. & if you’re caught doing it, you will be called out. Respect the work. Respect the artist.

I think part of the issue is that many people active here weren’t previously involved in Web3 so they have little to no understanding of what it means to properly credit or use an artist’s work. They treat it like Web2 search download share without realizing the ethical side. And on the other hand many Web3 artists haven’t minted all of their work which makes it even easier for others to misuse it. I even came across someone who took pieces from an artist’s OpenSea page minted it on Objkt and justified it by saying it was a collage 🙁

You’re right. And lots of this has been happening. But it’s kinda common sense no ? The sharing is one think but minting is so not cool .
