Here's what's broken about consumer crypto rn:

Apps can only target existing crypto users. Impossible to build an experience that is compelling for a non cryptonative to onboard.

90% active wallets are degens. Only users app builders can target are investment motivated. 

Thus recursive loop of speculation apps 🙃

Do you think net new users will be compelled to participate via net new UX behaviors facilitated by app features, through community development within channels, and/or something else?

Here’s how we can break out though:

The pie needs to grow. Apps grow the pie by bringing in NET NEW USERS. More diversity in active user types.

Apps can soon do that soon because wallet UX is taking a huge leap forward. With Coinbase smart wallet, apps finally have a chance at onboarding new users.

No need to download metamask, save seedphrase and on ramp funds.

Simple face id SSO experience.

Once apps have viable path to targeting users outside of the degens, app builders can build much more interesting experiences.

This leads to more experimentation, innovation, and fun apps (and less friendtech clones). 

CB smart wallet is improving very quickly so I believe we'll see this sooner rather than later.

yeah it's still quite intimidating. not only the onboarding but also the daily use imo - some of these messages that show up when signing / executing a transaction are a disaster.

Crypto UX-wise, wallets have the biggest room for improvement so I'm thinking a lot about that

Beyond that I think it'll be up to app builders to discover valuable and novel onchain use cases and business models
