Question. What was the human rights record for the us backed regime that was in charge before the republic of Iran, and if it's not much better, why would Iran think anything would change with a forced regime change?

Just because it was bad before, doesn't mean it can't be better. Things have been getting worst and worst in the past 46 years with Islamic extremists. They chant death to america and death to Isreal at least three times a day in mosques, force women to wear hijab and more. People want the minimum amount of freedom. I don't have an answer for you but I can't believe this is it for me for the rest of my life.

This is not a republic at all btw. Everything is controlled by the supreme leader. The elections are a joke. They hand pick a bunch of people who are essentially the same peace of shit and then ask people to vote. It won't matter who is elected because the president is just a puppet in this country.

Relying on liberators who only have pillaging your country as their interest won't be how it happens. Them the chants will only get worse. I'd love for nothing more than the current regime to be toppled, but to make a deal with the devil will leave you worse off Is my fear. Don't do the work of propaganda for your future oppressors.
