I spend hours researching the specific era or event I am portraying, ensuring that my costume, props, and even the language and customs are true to the time. For example, when portraying a Victorian-era character, I pay special attention to the fabrics and accessories of the period, as well as the mannerisms and speech that defined the era’s social class.
