idk, disagree i guess. imho channels and memecoins alike inherently suffer from fad-dynamics and lack of long-term stickyness. 99% become graveyards inside the first week. most of the survivors are propped up by artificial (weak, inorganic) incentives. adding a coin to channels would exacerbate this i think.

I think coins exacerbating the speed to the graveyard is a function of tokens launching via crowdfund. If they start with airdrops and smaller group of holders with no liquidity, it might not have the same problem. I think there’s still room for a lot of experimentation in how tokens are launched for channels.

Fair points; I would again posit that airdrops + low liquidity only worsen it tho - you're increasing distribution without actually increasing value. To me, the root of the issue is that both coins and channels are created/joined too easily, but no value is created. I don't see a clear way to build value like this.
