The reality of these high follower accounts is 80% of their actual base are dead in the water. Farcaster automatically follows all of the suggested accounts for new users. I think this isn’t a good thing and this action should be removed. It creates an inflation that wouldn’t otherwise exist.

I’ve had multiple people who have onboarded to Warpcast ask me why they have a following of 70 to 100 people when they haven’t followed anyone. And then proceeded to unfollow these people because they don’t know who they are, nor are they interested in following their content.

I am also in agreement. I did not unfollow them but I’m pretty sure it insta followed 80 accounts on sign up. These all come out of the cost of storage too

also it seems most of the high follower users do dumbass giveaways, tempting users with free money and they don't often create content that is unique or valuable to a community or channel. which is funny because we complain about this, but here we are.

You are soo right but this is the way all the social apps go wrong. I’m not sure if there is a way to fix this. I really wish there was 😳 Warpcast could be the one. It’s in the verge of this point but I’m afraid started to go in the way we all don’t desire…

I think it was put in place at the begining and forgot to remove it. With that say they are many account with lots of dead followers? they could be bot! Big following resonate to Big allowance and that isn't ncessarily true.
