Feel like we don’t hear much from Biden since he dropped out of the presidential race? The problem is he’s still the president and he’s overseeing potentially grave and disastrous events on his watch. The admission that Biden is not capable of running for office also contained the obvious implication that he’s not capable of holding that same office at the moment. It’s reasonable to ask who is really in charge right now and what role his various advisors are playing. My fear is that he is merely a figurehead at this point being controlled by individuals in power around him acting as de facto powers behind the throne. Some of these people may have their own agendas that the American people may not be aware of, or agree with. In our fervor over the next election we’re neglecting the fact he’s still in power for five more months, during which the entire world could potentially change.

When I brought up a potential 2024 version of the Cuban Missile Crisis happening between now and the election (actually January 2025), everyone told me he was fine now that he didn't have to "campaign". :)

One thing that gets me is that people around him were clearly lying to the public about his condition for a significant amount of time. You’re very right to worry about a Cuban Missile Crisis scenario imagine Kennedy was literally incapacitated and we had no idea who was in charge

I was told he had advisors. Yet, the military advisors advocated for a pre-emptive strike (!). Only Kennedy being cognitively there pushed back on that. Now imagine Biden in a similar situation today. Who is actually making the final decision? Jill?
