This should not have made it out of testing.. the readability is so bad that it will cause accidents.

(And I know what I'm talking about here, been designing these things for 4.5 years now)

Who is the design lead or head of design at Apple?

Not sure actually. It's a mix of teams and managers (obviously).  Not sure of there is one overhead director for design specific things. 

There is this guy on youtube that does explain a similar issue with apple intelligence.
