After the first chapter, I pretty much agree with all of this: - yes tech has abandoned the mission of actually improving the human condition - yes there is a need for engineering to reengage with nation building - yes we've gotten bogged down with petty debates over identity (the book is wise enough to not say woke) It will be interesting to see how we get from there to "yes we need a surveillance state".
