Olympic Games in ancient times The first Olympic Games were held in 776 BC and the most recent in 393 AD. The participants became on a par with philosophers, scientists, politicians and poets in terms of popularity. They even began to deify them and believed that the statues of athletes can help in the healing of various ailments. Wrestling, pentathlon and fist fighting have reached our days from ancient Greek sports. They, of course, have already somewhat modified. The Olympic Games were known to everyone and it is still possible to find information about the great winners of those games and the records set by athletes.

What was the Roman emperor's personal guard? The Praetorian cohorts were called aquitatae and consisted of about 80% foot soldiers. Each consisted of 10 centuria commanded by a tribune. The number of cohorts and their numbers could vary, but on average the Roman Empire had 9-10 cohorts of 500 men each. The general command of the Praetorians was exercised by two Praetorian Prefects. The identifying sign of the cohorts was a scorpion. The main place of their accommodation was a military camp in the vicinity of Rome. Three cohorts urbanae were also stationed there. As the name implies, these units were engaged in protection and order within Rome. In the capital of the empire were also present the personal cavalry of the emperor - eqiuites singulars Augusti (from 500 to 1000 people) and his personal bodyguards - the Germanics from the tribe of Batavians. The latter were called corporis custodes and numbered up to 500 soldiers.

A Hittite royal seal with the ominous inscription: "He who breaks me will die!" Archaeologists who found it on the site of an ancient fortress in the Turkish village of Byuklukale (100 km from Ankara) seem to have broken it. But - unintentionally, and therefore, forgivable. However, maybe the seal was already slightly broken.

Deportation of a Jewish family, London, March 31, 1939. In late March and early April, British police carried out the deportation of Jews who had left Czechoslovakia after its occupation by Hitler's Germany - they were refused entry because of "improper paperwork." In total, Britain denied entry visas to 500,000 Jews in the time after Hitler's rise to power. The photograph was later called "Deportation to Death"

HIV has been defeated - scientists have created a drug that 100% protects people from HIV infection and prevents the virus from multiplying in the body. The final stage of trials has already been passed - the injection, which was given twice a year, 100% protected female test subjects. By the end of 2024, the drug trials in men will be completed and, if everything goes smoothly, two injections a year will be enough for complete HIV prevention. On the downside: one injection costs $21125, but scientists hope to solve the price issue

The most surprised cat was found in Perm, Russia. The cat's owners came home and found a "surprised" expression on the pet's face. They took him to the veterinary clinic and it turned out that he had...dislocated jaw. How the cat managed to dislocate his jaw remains a mystery, but a week earlier he had already had his jaw repaired at another clinic. Fluffy had his jaw set in its natural position and then had it fixed for a couple of weeks. He's already on the mend. The meme is funny, the situation is scary

People are buying up massagers in droves on marketplaces in order to tap even harder - demand for them increased by as much as 179% last month. Some sellers specifically state in their ads that the massager is suitable for fast pumping in Hamster Combat. Sales may skyrocket in the near future on the back of the news of an imminent listing. My fingers couldn't take the strain.
