I’ve almost completely stopped using guitar tuners. The imperfections of tuning by ear sound so much better I don’t think I can go back. It’s also really fun going between different types of tunings by ear

Coming from piano, different guitar tunings (and a capo) always felt like cheating and dishonest in guitar haha.
But it's part of the beauty of the instrument, i guess.

Also it could be seen as cheating that the piano handles the subtleties of interacting with the strings for you where as you have to spend a lot of time learning that for guitar. Also much easier to understand what you are doing theory wise on piano

Yeah for sure for both 1 and 2. I’m a visual person so seeing so clearly the piano has always helped me a ton. 
And for the cheating thing i was mostly kidding haha. It’s like my immature side not seeijg nuance / accepting that different instruments are … different
