Two opinions I’m starting to form: 1. In the future most data (80%) will be stored in one or more decentralized protocols 2. Those protocols will not use the EVM in any way Bullish crypto, bearish ETH

Why not an L2 that abstracts evm away from users? Wouldn’t that benefit from more reliable long term security and bigger network effects?

I think the ecosystem / hive mind of EVM is more harmful than EVM itself to be honest. From the tech side the EVM just wasn’t purpose-built and I’m more bullish on things made with a use case in mind

So basically fat apps over fat protocols?

I wouldn’t say fat apps, I still think the protocols will be valuable and used by many apps. Again I think Farcaster is a great example. They build Snapchain specifically to store casts and follower data. The accounts themselves are on Optimism though, and most payments happen through Base. Each of these protocols are used for a specific purpose.
