15 years back, I got a guitar, inspired by my roommate who plays it well 

practiced a few weeks, but couldn’t keep it up

and now, I got a new guitar again. hoping this time would be different

if any of you got any tips/advice to a beginner please do share

My advice(disclaimer I’m kinda bad at giving beginners advice) is to listen to your instrument. Pick it up when it asks you to, play what it asks you to, and *this part is often overlooked* put it down when it asks you to. You are not mastering the instrument, you are negotiating.
