okay I’ll bite

for us layman can someone explain why some updates can be forced via a simple “restart” notification and others need to be updated via the App Store ?

what kind of update specifically would be in one category or the other

 I like to learn

"Over the air" updates can be pushed without the app store 

Expo framework feature, you can change a certain amount (the JavaScript) but bigger things require normal updates (native modules/dependencies)

Really depends what you got under the hood and when

Move thing from x to y = sure use ota

Need to install something to support a new file type = gonna have to push that into the app store
