this seems like a really good “gotcha” but unfortunately not supported by the data, here’s 2022 and 2023: U.S. heat-related deaths in 2022 (1,722): https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11348089/ U.S. heat-related deaths in 2023 (2,325): https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11348089/ likely underreported but still nowhere near the numbers in the EU despite higher temps in the U.S., particularly in the south.

spain with 45M population has 8K deaths per year related with heat i am 100% sure, this data is underrrported, fakez or they use different measures to determine what is a heat related death
