thank you for doing this AMA @toly. it’s cool to see solana folks getting more involved with farcaster.

over the last couple years, solana has won the narrative war vs. ethereum and much of this tension has been expressed through beef on twitter (e.g. mert arguing with .eths)

even though robust discourse is important, it often led to a lot of toxic behaviour that obfuscated the very real engineering challenges being worked out behind the scenes on both sides.

do you believe in a “the tide lifts all boats” framing of competition between chains? in other words, is greater adoption of ethereum beneficial to solana and vice versa? or do you see this more as a zero sum/pvp game with winners and losers?

Tide has lifted all boats already. Basically 5% of the criticism is worth listening to, on both sides. Unfortunately the only way to get enough attention to get that 5% is to also get that 95% that’s useless.  

Ethereum is going to be fine. It’s a bunch of smart people capable of change.  solana’s success can only change ethereum for the better.
