1. launch clanker to fund prototype—like a "seed round" for a crypto protocol. max trust toward the dev
2. project evolves or dies (most die)
3. app becomes a protocol, migrate clanker coins to dao tokens

I have various side project ideas and the following two thoughts usually run simultaneously:
1. gee this could be a protocol someday
2. fuck the protocol, need to ship something fast

Completely agree with his point. As a builder you need the space to experiment—a chorus of random anons with short term thinking, who happened to spend $5 on a coin, constantly questioning and advising your next move is wholly unsustainable.

ig my question is more so in the long run (not for QR specifically but for project coins generally) how they transition into a model that can live on forever, and what happens to the project coin launched at the beginning in that case (knowing that this might take years and most will fail).

qr coin a great example of a project that could do this... maybe auction revenues are already collected in a dao like structure? not sure

no imo the token should go live with the launch. max distribution.

the barrier to launching a mini app or project is becoming so low that personally it makes no sense to launch a token before getting at least a MVP mini app live

get an app live, get it listed in @farstore where folks can start adding to a crowdfund (which is its own type of signal), then launch appcoin and go from there

Have you seen funding.works? It’s similar to this in practice but different in execution. People buy soulbound nfts and the dev gets 10% of the total + a drip of the rest of the pot. Holders can burn their nft for their share of the pot at any time, getting a partial refund.
