Can calldata (eventually) really support p2p storage like blobs? I haven’t got a ton of faith in ipfs.

And what would be the implications for onchain gen art (eg: Artblocks) if calldata was dropped after 18 days?

Short term: some assets are not pinned and maintained, and are lost.

Long term: tools like iroh replace ipfs; few people left to maintain ipfs assets. also concern w.r.t. centralization of hosted nodes—I’ve found ipfs nodes tricky to host w/o any issues.

Well RIP if there are any problems with state data, nft ownership itself becomes shaky. This criticality is the reason why even the expired state data will have better guarantees than ipfs or arweave.

it’s likely that ethereum will implement state expiry eventually as well - not just calldata dropped, but historical storage as well 🤠 (recoverable via proof)

It is stored as state, as is the code. AFAICT there should be no impact.

Is it because the generative seed is stored as part of minting tx calldata? Any ways to store it as a state? 🤔
