Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said the company is exploring the possibility of using stablecoins as a payment method to reduce international transaction costs.

“We’re still in the exploration phase,” Khosrowshahi said at the Bloomberg Technology Conference in San Francisco, but noted that companies with global scale like Uber could benefit from cheaper cross-border payments.

He also called bitcoin “a proven commodity” and added that stablecoins have real practical applications for businesses operating in different countries. The comments reflect a growing interest among big tech companies in leveraging blockchain-based infrastructure to streamline financial operations.
