Not sure about the tech behind Xbox Family app on iOS, but the blend of web views with no responsiveness or waiting indicators makes it a horrible experience. Part of the problem behind unified frameworks, is not only the tech but the option of throwing people unfamiliar with the target OS and even UX at the problem.
