Not sure about the tech behind Xbox Family app on iOS, but the blend of web views with no responsiveness or waiting indicators makes it a horrible experience. Part of the problem behind unified frameworks, is not only the tech but the option of throwing people unfamiliar with the target OS and even UX at the problem.

It’s surprising how little you can find on the “nearest source of truth, single source of change” principle. We’ve done distributed systems for a few decades soon, but we keep sticking to old terminology.

I used to prefer apps on iOS opening links in a SafariViewController and not opening a new tab in Safari app. Not sure when I changed opinion, but I think the hacks applied, or custom browser views combined with dark patterns to prevent you opening system browser is the culprit.
