2/ Take “temporary availability layers” like Ethereum blobs or Celestia. They let every node access the data during block packaging... But after a short time (e.g. 18 days for blobs), the data disappears. 🧨 Oh, and uploading just a few hundred KB can cost tens of thousands. 🚨

3/ Then there’s off-chain storage + on-chain references: Think Solana compression, IPFS, Filecoin, Arweave. It’s cheaper and supports long-term storage, but… ❌ Smart contracts can’t directly read it ❌ If something breaks off-chain, your data’s gone
