Thousands of counterfeit Android smartphones have been discovered with pre-installed cryptocurrency-stealing malware. Mobile devices already infected with a version of the Triada Trojan are being sold online at reduced prices. Once the Trojan gives attackers access to the devices, they can steal cryptocurrency by replacing wallet addresses. Among other capabilities, the Trojan is able to steal user account data and intercept incoming and outgoing text messages, including two-factor authentication.
