We always hear “time is money,” and while I agree with that, sometimes it’s just as important to unwind. What you do with your downtime can fuel what you do the rest of the time. For me, spending time outdoors is key—even though I work a remote job that’s 100% online. Those short solo trips around the block or to the park really recharge my energy and focus. It’s also where some of my best ideas come to life (I think, anyway 😂). What about you? How do you recharge after a long day?

I take long, leisurely baths in a bathtub filled with warm water for 30 minutes to an hour. I also go to hot springs on the weekends. It's relaxing and I often come up with unexpected solutions to problems at work. I can't believe there are people who only take showers every day.

Absolutely, I agree! It’s easy to get caught up in the “time is money” mindset, but downtime is so valuable. Like you, I think getting outside makes a huge difference. There’s something about fresh air and a change of scenery that resets the mind and sparks creativity. For me, I love a mix of things sometimes a walk in the park or a hike if I have more time, but other days, it’s as simple as listening to music or picking up a book. And sometimes, just taking a few minutes to do absolutely nothing can be the best reset. Those little moments make it so much easier to tackle the next day with fresh energy.

Hello! I agree that time = money, BUT! When you go on vacation, your brain takes a break from the daily routine and new ideas come, you can see, hear, meet something, and this will lead you to new money! I work offline and relax in the evening in FC with you, my friends!

Working out is key for me…it’s almost meditative. Second your spending time outdoors, when you can combine outdoors and workouts it’s magical.

Tbh, I just lay on my bed, start scrolling twitter until I sleep off. Infact, most times I love doing scrolling back and forth through twitter and TikTok in the Toilet man😂. Feels so relaxing and quiet😂. I’m there until I’m convinced it’s time to continue scrolling on the bed, then dozes off lol

Anything outdoors or physical, preferably both. Sometimes it's still work, but a different kind.

More vibin’ less building, listening to familiar music always recharges my mind and clears it for anything that’s next. With kids it can be tough to get that downtime, but super important for any self-care routine.

Just want to share this story I heard a while ago: Two woodcutters, Leo and Max, were competing to see who could chop down the most trees in a day. They started together, axes swinging within earshot of each other. But after an hour, Max noticed that Leo had stopped. Puzzled, he kept going. Five minutes later, Leo was back at it, only to stop again an hour later. This pattern continued throughout the day—Leo would chop for a while, then take a short break. Max felt confident he’d win, thinking Leo’s “start and stop” approach was costing him valuable time. But at the end of the day, Max was shocked to find Leo had felled more trees. “How did you do that?” he asked. “I didn’t stop once, but you kept taking breaks!” Leo replied, “I stopped to sharpen my axe.” Sometimes, taking time to recharge or refine your approach can make all the difference.

I’m the same I love being outdoors. We take the dog big long walks in the woods and I play golf too. Happiness for me is being in the forest or the ocean or the mountains.

For me it's always the Ocean, in one form or another. When I used to be a loan officer for 9 years in the mortgage industry, I would (try to) leave enough time after work to either surf or fish, or at least go to the cliffs and mind surf waves while enjoying a frosty adult beverage. Still do all of this but spend so much time fishing for work the wind down is the other two. I don't feel right when I am away from the ocean for more than a couple days. I like the mountains, the rainforest and my number one all time unwind was Tahiti. Most ideal place I have ever experienced. Unwind is ingrained into their culture. If you ever get the chance, go there. Life changer guaranteed 🌊

Time is a money paragraph that highlights the direct proportionality between time and money. It means if you waste or lose time, you will sooner or later lose money. Yes, it's true but in all ones doing, wisdom is profitable. I usually go gyming,in the evening, leave my phone in my bag, there I meet people, it's not for health benefits alone, but I draw inspiration from there while laying my hands on different HIIT or strength training programs. Remember, without time off from work, a person becomes both bored and boring. No matter how time is priceless and precious always take time off to get recharge daily so as to avoid downtime.

I will go on vacation after going through a long day, even though I very much agree that time is money, I will not force it if my body is feeling tired or stressed, so I must prioritize vacation first haha.
