This is fascinating. Poor people resonate with Trumps message much more than people with money.

The biggest determinant of whether or not Trump’s message resonated with you was your annual income. 2016. 2020. 2024. It didn’t matter. Drain the Swamp. COVID. Political prosecutions. None of it really mattered. The less money you earn, the more Trump’s message landed https://t.co/ISbp2cRq6M

Hasn't this always been the case? He won in 2016 by making believers out of millions of disenfranchised voters. They were apathetic towards the system that let them down time and time again. While rich people love the system, it makes them rich. Why change the rules to a game that they already thrive at?

I don’t think it was nearly as much the case last time around. There were a lot of people in 2016 that voted for him because he wasn’t a traditional politician. I think that’s less true now that he’s been one for over a decade. For example, my parents voted for Trump in 2016 and didn’t in 2024. They were not thrilled with his first term.

Why did they vote for him first time around? My angry opinion is that it is probably the same reason people fell for him this time around. They forget that their feelings are NOT FACTS. This happens to men more than women imo. Trump knows how to manipulate your feelings.

For the reason I stated above - they thought he was “anti-establishment”, that he would “shake up” DC.

Better trade, 3 trillion in economic growth, I think it’s working but only time will tell

How is trade better? We’re literally taxed more for all of it. 3 trillion in claimed investments. The government always makes claims like that.

You get to the bottom and it feels like alls that’s left is the anger…money, hope for that’s gone…they know…all that’s outta their control…

A masterclass in controlling the sheeple. Don’t educate. Keep them poor. Point at the other. I HATE the gop for this. I don’t hate the Dems but I do have disdain and we need to figure out this fucking messaging.

And like yes dems need to be reorged immediately. If it feels like they’re too late it’s bc we severely underestimated pain. Pain is personal

And as such, it’s up to all of us individually to recognize pain is universal. But with the phones and screens we are attached to it is a steep learning curve. And so we are back to those in control. They’re no better just luckier. Like really lucky. I am really incredibly lucky. I work hard and want my contributions to feel personal but it’s just not that serious so I might as well be a good person or try to be and for me that means giving a heck about my neighbors in the moments I can find space to.
