🔴Morgan Stanley analysts said that a 25% tariff on iPhones imported to the United States is unlikely to prompt Apple to relocate their manufacturing in the country. The analysts wrote: "While 'speed to market' for a US-made iPhone is a major obstacle, our calculations indicate that a 25% tariff on iPhone imports is not a sufficient incentive for Apple to relocate iPhone production for the US market." The analysts estimate that it would take "at least two years and several billion dollars" to build new iPhone assembly plants in the United States. US President Donald Trump reignited tariff concerns last week, threatening to impose a 25% import tax on iPhones, a move seen as retaliation for Apple's continued shifting of US-made iPhone assembly from China to India.
