Tried booking an autorickshaw in Chennai on Uber and Rapido. The app shows a price, but no driver accepts it. Then I get a pop-up asking me to add ₹50/100/150 to "increase my chances." What's the point of showing a price if drivers just wait for higher bids? The algorithm's pricing is too low for drivers (? from experience, I don't think it's low), so they game the system, and riders end up paying more. The whole experience feels unfair. I might as well hail an auto and negotiate directly - it seems to be often cheaper now. It's always an eye-opener to see what these companies are doing/testing in other markets.
