The capital of this kingdom was the city of Athens. Other names for it are Attica, Megaris, and Athens. The people here held Athens, a strong fortress, in their hands the compassionate deme Erechtheus.

Apollo and Daphne is a life-size marble sculpture by Italian artist Gian Lorenzo Bernini, executed between 1622 and 1625. This statue is considered one of the artistic wonders of the Baroque era. The sculpture is kept in the Borges Gallery in Rome along with several other examples of the artist's most important early works. It is written that Daphne escapes from Apollo by turning into a laurel tree.

Marsyas (Greek: Μαρσυας) was a Phrygian satyr who invented flute music. He found the earliest flute made by the goddess Athena. Marsyas later challenged the god Apollo to a musical contest, but lost when the god asked them to play their instruments upside down in the second round—a feat unsuited to the flute. As punishment for his arrogance, Apollo tied Marsyas to a tree and flayed him alive.

Amplos was a handsome young Thracian satyr who was loved by the god Dionysus. There were two accounts of his death. In one of them he was killed by a wild bull and turned into the first vine by the sad god. In another, Ampelos fell from an elm tree while picking grapes and was placed among the stars as the constellation better known as the Boot.

The Night Watchman or Night Patrol was created in 1642 by Rembrandt, a Dutch painter known as the "true master of light". This painting is known as one of the most famous paintings in the world for three reasons. First, in this work, you see militia guards led by a captain who are ready to go out and have no fixed position. The second point of this painting is its very large size. The third interesting point is the significant use of sunlight and shadow in this painting.
