vscode + copilot agent + claude sonnet has been absolute fire in the last week. I've made infra level changes to implementing schema migration changes to aligning buttons across different neynar codebases. It's precise and works. It ssh'es in for infra changes, uses different tools to verify that it applied changes properly. It push commits and creates PRs. It's precise and it just works - such a joy to use it.

have you tried Jules yet? you can throw it easy stuff like "read the code and update these docs" or "take the new design on page A and apply it to B and C" and it does it all async separate from your work then sets it up for you to merge in when you're ready, great for async

Been running claude 4 sonnet max with a first principles thinking prompt + these cursor rules which has been a total gamechanger https://github.com/steipete/agent-rules

Vscode has a problem with a really big context (rules, docs + long convo). Cursor is really better in my experience.
