⚙️#ETH Ethereum researcher Dankrad Feist has introduced EIP-9698, proposing a 100x increase in the gas limit over the next four years — from 36 million to 3.6 billion. The proposal sets a “deterministic schedule,” with a 10x increase every two years starting in June 2025. In theory, this could allow Ethereum to handle up to 2000 transactions per second. Feist acknowledged that the load on operators of low-performance nodes might become too heavy, but validators would have time to adapt over the long term.
