Where I live I really can't get anywhere without driving, with the exception of taking an uber to the train station and riding the train to Newark or New York City

thats so much driving... but you only are annoyed by the commute maybe once a week?

I don't commute, I work from home. 

My last job when I had a commute it was 9 minutes each way, but 5 minutes on a highway that does get really annoying :)

I live in the suburbs so I drive for everything else

Working from home is really a blessing and a curse... when I did it, I'd get so restless and lonely. I'd suffer in the suburbs if they werent walkable.
