it's lose-lose either way. what is the market taker getting for either form of consolidation? an unrelated IDE and codepilot is extremely likely to manifest in months, much shorter than the 12 months vesting shenanigans.

If acquisitions were simply legal (like before), everyone at the company would have benefitted. Distorting the market, you're getting weird games. Cursor is still independent and doing well. Claude Code. In this specific case, this market consolidation is actually likely to result in increased competition and consumer surplus.
