what’s going on with op_return in bitcoin?

kneejerk NIMBY to scope creep (bread and butter for Bitcoin), but the limit incentivizes a current subnominal workaround.

yeah, lifting the soft limit is a nothingburger.

but network security is still an iceberg for an unsteerable ship.

seems like the big misunderstanding was overall size increasing but it was just the op return bytes increasing within the already defined external limit
