FasterTasks ••• A Major Upgrade to Task Rewards Infrastructure Today we’re rolling out a new generation of FasterTasks, built from the ground up to handle scale, safety, and real user behavior on Farcaster. This update isn’t a cosmetic change. It’s a structural upgrade to how tasks are created, verified, and rewarded. What’s new 1. Deterministic, on-chain reward windows Each task now has its full lifecycle defined on-chain from the moment it’s created. If a task has one round or multiple rounds, all time windows are fixed and verifiable. No ambiguity. No backend guesswork. 2. Merkle distribution done right Rewards are distributed via Merkle roots only after a round has fully ended. This prevents early approvals, race conditions, and accidental over-allocation. If the backend is late, claims still work. If it’s early, the contract rejects it. 3. One verification, one chance Users can verify a task exactly once. That verification timestamp determines which round they belong to. This eliminates double-dipping, replay attempts, and round hopping. 4. Batch claiming, finally practical Users can now: • Claim rewards from many tasks • Across multiple tokens • In one transaction • To any wallet address they choose ETH + ERC20 rewards are bundled and sent together. Lower gas. Cleaner UX. Fewer clicks. 5. Built for failure scenarios The system is designed assuming things will go wrong: • Backend downtime • Delayed Merkle generation • Partial round completion Funds remain safe, claims remain possible, and state stays consistent. What this means for users • Clear expectations on when rewards unlock • No lost rewards due to timing issues • Faster, cheaper claims • Stronger guarantees that “verified” actually means something Important note on compatibility • All new tasks now use the new FasterTasks claim system. • Existing tasks and previous claims continue to work unchanged on the previous system. Old tasks finish where they started. New tasks move forward. This upgrade sets the foundation for more advanced task mechanics, richer reward logic, and safer experiments going forward. More soon. https://farcaster.xyz/miniapps/gYgrdrGpSYem/fastertasks
