Cinema Paradiso

This continues to be one of my favorite shots in cinema

This cut, this scene is exquisite

creating and destroying; flying cars, jet engines, roc.camera, july.rocks /faust

I am watching Ozu since many years now and every time I found something different in his work. Especially this scene reminds me the Junichiro Tanizaki “praise of shadow”. Also I read somewhere that Ozu perspective studies were very detailed and often the objects in his movies were in different scale just to match his vision. I consider this absolute maniacal but lovely at the same time.
