This is Sarah a 24 years old based in Lagos, Nigeria. She studied computer science and had always dreamed of building an AI startup to help small businesses with affordable customer service chatbots. But by April 2025, as a bootstrapped founder, she hit a wall. GPU costs were sky high, and training her own models felt out of reach. Then she found Hyperbolic. It was a humid Saturday evening in April , at exactly 6:29 PM WAT when she first logged into Hyperbolic platform after seeing a post from @Ludarep on X. At first, she was skeptical. But then she saw the GPU Marketplace. For just $0.99/hour, she rented an H100 GPU something she’d only dreamed of affording before. Within hours, she had trained a LLaMA model on over 1 million tokens of customer service data. The same process would’ve cost her hundreds of dollars on AWS.

@hyperbolic_labs decentralized network had more than 10,000 GPUs available, and Sarah became one of over 195,000 developers using their infrastructure, which pushes 112 billion tokens monthly. But here’s where it got even more impressive <> she integrated Hyperbolic x402 payment protocol with Coinbase. That meant her chatbot powered by Hyperbolic inference API could autonomously pay for its own compute from a crypto wallet with No API keys needed. No billing dashboards. Just smooth, permissionless deployment. All this while Sarah sipped palm wine and watched the Lagos sunset. While the chatbot delivered empathetic, context-aware and was reliable. Her small business clients loved it. Contracts started rolling in.
