In theory sure. However it’s playing out like ->

Better infra -> same brand -> same users -> better tech -> same brand

Better tech allows for better positioning and branding tho. Feels like a lockstep process.

Better infra > Better Brand > more users > Better tech > Better brand.......

With most of the builders still being devs (and only a small hand of marketers/finance people not focused on pricego up only) what would you have them do to have great branding and positioning?

There also is a dark side to this, where branding and positioning too early could be damaging.

Product / tech sets the foundation before the branding / positioning can really excel imo.
