Totally agree, but also, there’s the fact that phones and UX/UI are designed to keep attention. Still yes. Def on consumers. Any apps that you use that help you?

Remember when smartphones were supposed to be our virtual assistants? Now they function as sinkholes for our time and attention. I wonder: do you think there will come a day when the majority of consumers will pay for phones to actually be virtual assistants? The tech is there. But is the market?

A “cheap” way you could replicate that would be to volunteer for crisis hotlines. Get a weekend training. Then volunteer. Not only will you get flow state, you’ll help people desperately in need. That’s meaningful And that’s one of the few forms of payment better than the dollar

Working in crisis situations w/i mental health counseling gets me locked in to a flow state. I tinkered with saying, “just listening to others, without needing to respond, unless you are seeking clarification.” But the times that get me most locked in as a therapist are when I know someone is in crisis.
