One of my high school mate just lost their lives due to food poisoning. May her soul rest in peace 🙏🕊️. Feels so bad when I got the news and still find it hard to believe. But something just keeps bugging me. In our set group chat they said let’s contribute something to the family. But for me I don’t feel it’s right. Offering money for a family that just lost their daughter so young doesn’t seem right to me. I understand if it where a breadwinner or something. But offering money for losing a loved one? What do you guys think is that right or am I just over thinking it?

If you don’t feel right it’s your choice

I think you’re overthinking it! You never know what they are going through, sometimes even after the contributions they could use the funds to buy stuff that can be used to offer guests who come to offer their condolences 💐

the fam has to pay for a funeral/burial unexpectedly so it can be seen as kind to donate to them. its also nice to give the family food you make or something like that

maybe visiting them and being there during this tough time would be a better choice

The truth is nothing can bring back a lost one, no one ever has the handbook of grief. I don’t think the family will mind, the funds will be coming from a genuine place of care. But in the end you should do what feels right by you as long as you pay your respects
