I like working very small, very local, for the biggest impact. Serve one or two people beyond their expectations. Actually care. Service is extremely underrated nowadays, especially when it comes to something seemingly detached like an app or online business, or in the arts where often the creator is doing something for/about themselves. If you think in terms of service, you’ll find a way to express yourself and you’ll also find a way to serve, whether through the art or within the community. Caring about people pays huge dividends. It even mitigates the need to promote. Word of mouth is the strongest form of advertising. But first, you have to actually care. One person at a time. Most people won’t do that. They want fast success and large numbers. Stats. They see people as numbers, dollar signs, not individuals. One individual at a time. One person at a time. One friend whose life or perspective just improved because of you. It’s actually easy if you actually care.
