A simple two-note interval can be continually re-contextualized for cohesiveness across an entire work. It becomes the melody, the harmony, the rhythm, and the overall structure.
There are infinite ways to approach it. As long as you maintain that basic seed in mind as you work, it can be chopped, stretch, scaled, stacked, rhythm-itized, and gesture-ized for as long as the story needs to be told.
