If you are a developer using snapchain regularly, it is worth considering setting up your own local node. Queries to a local node are really fast. For probably less than $250 you can get a RaspberryPi5 (16GB, it's important), with an internal 1TB SSD (+SD, PSU, etc). It won't be able to support thousands of clients making requests simultaneously, but it's more than enough for any dev, or data analyst.

Can you briefly explain how it works? Does it keep the whole Farcaster status (like a node on a block chain)? Can you cast from your own node and read whatever you want from that node? That'd be huge.

Yes, - A snapchain node keeps the global Farcaster status. - You can read whatever you want. - You can cast from your own node (you will need an app to use the API, generate appkeys, etc) Good resources: https://snapchain.farcaster.xyz https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0eq1PLf6eUete1EtUvh7NTIhYCNcR46l
