wattle or acacia is one of my favourite plants, there are over 1800 species of wattle here in australia. the golden wattle is our national floral emblem. acacias need fire to germinate and usually grow fast after a fire, helping to regenerate the bush, as such they symbolise resilience and renewal. First Nations people have used acacia for thousands of years - including for medicinal, ceremonial (smoking ceremony), for food (wattle seed), timber for building & more some species of acacia hold psychedelic properties and bark and root of certain species can be made into DMT, which is potent psychedelic. we celebrate wattle day as 1st of September - it is the dream of many that we make this our national day to celebrate coz currently our australia day marks the day british settlers arrived and began a violent disposition and genocide of aboriginal people. many believe moving our national day to wattle day would help promote peace and reconciliation. 🌿 šŸ’› #creativepower21
