Tell me why this is a dumb question - even just strategically, why commit to the US specifically bombing Iran?

What’s the advantage of the US explicitly doing it instead of just letting Israel do it and giving them stuff they need?

Assuming you believe that destroying the nuclear infrastructure existential, Iran's Fordow nuclear site is 300 ft underground. Only way to destroy it is this weapon. US B-2 bomber only plane that do that.

(Not resolved in this attack: where is the existing highly enriched uranium, is there a secret unknown enrichment site, Iranians can rebuild program in the future)

The US is the only country that has a long range strategic stealth bomber like the B-2. Chinese are developing one, but not something you just give to other countries.
