pretty obvious he will. and why wouldn't he? - he doesn't give a single shit about the people who will be casualties / fatalities - his approval rating is in the bottom of the garbage can already - might as well roll the dice and see if he can get a wartime bump - on that note, it's not like MAGA is gonna turn on him just cause he's sending their children to kill / die for no good reason - takes some media attention off all the other dumb, cruel, self-serving stuff he's doing - worst case for him, he makes more money with his military contractor buddies and gets to feel big and strong and important

I do not think he will commit to any more troops to the middle-east though. He's pulling troops from Syria. He may bomb Iran but it will be it. Regime change in Iran won't probably happen but that is ok - it is about making sure a non-rational leadership doesn't get a nuclear weapon. His thinking may be to empower local allies in the Middle-East and Europe and move American troops back home, that is my guess.

“He may bomb Iran but it will be it” I mean that says a lot right there… I hope you’re right that we don’t send any more troops and in fact actually reduce the number of deployed troops, but as you say, that is just your guess. And that’s not really how war works. We’re already repositioning Navy ships to be closer to Iran - you know who works those ships? Troops. Any attack on Iran by the US, makes the US a target for retaliation.

From the G7 statement: "Iran is the principal source of regional instability and terror". This is the broad consensus. A lot of Arab countries would agree privately. You don't want Iran to have nuclear weapons given that. Iran might become a battleground soon yes. But no American troops will be involved I sense. Nation building and stuff like it were stupid ideas and won't work.
